Wealth, Opportunity, and the New Social
Contract: Integrating Financial Capability in American Social Welfare Policy
explores how financial capability can be positioned as a core component of
social welfare in the United States. The special issue examines the
intersections of wealth building, equal opportunity, and social policy reform,
highlighting the importance of financial literacy, access to resources, and
sustainable support systems for individuals and communities. By integrating
financial capability into the broader social contract, this theme seeks to
address persistent inequalities, promote economic inclusion, and strengthen the
foundation of social welfare in contemporary American society.
In this special issue, we intend to invite
front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review
articles on exploring Wealth, Opportunity, and the New Social
Contract Integrating Financial Capability in American Social Welfare Policy. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
