Special Issue on Environmental Microbiology

Environmental Microbiology investigates the diverse roles of microorganisms in ecosystems, including their impact on air, soil, and water quality, and their participation in biogeochemical cycles. It focuses on understanding microbial interactions with pollutants for bioremediation, assessing environmental health, and exploring the use of microbes in sustainable practices. This field is crucial for developing strategies to mitigate environmental challenges and leveraging microbial processes for ecological conservation and restoration efforts.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on Environmental Microbiology. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Microbial ecology
  • Soil microbiology
  • Aquatic microbiology
  • Air microbiology
  • Pollution microbiology
  • Extreme microbiology
  • Environmental biotechnology
  • Bioremediation
  • Biodegradation
  • Biogeochemistry
  • Microbial genomics
  • Microbial pathogenesis
  • Microbial physiology
  • Microbes in water and wastewater treatment
  • Antibiotic resistance in environmental microbe

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue – Environmental Microbiology” should be chosen during your submission.

According to the following timetable:
