Special Issue on

Hazard Mitigation That Makes a Big Difference

Recent decades have seen a wide range of natural (such as floods and hurricanes) and technological disasters (such as hazardous material releases) across the countries. Thus, generating research achievements in emergency preparedness, disaster response and recovery, and hazard mitigation is critical to the wellbeing of the general public and their quality of life. In fact, environmental hazard research helps improve disaster-related policies and establish safety measures to prevent or mitigate physical, economic, social, and psychological impacts resulting from disasters, which is, in turn, expected to contribute to promoting community sustainable development. The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in the area of hazard mitigation that makes a big difference.      

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring hazard mitigation that makes a big difference. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Disaster assessment and mitigation policies
• Disaster prevention and control engineering
• Earthquake prediction and response
• The typhoon forecast and countermeasures
• Flood forecasting
• Hazard vulnerability and risk analysis
•  Hazard adjustment
• Hazard mitigation practices

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Hazard Mitigation that Makes a Big Difference” should be chosen during your submission.
