Special Issue on Hydrocephalus

Hydrocephalus can be described as a condition of the accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid and is usually caused by overproduction of the cerebrospinal fluid or blockage of cerebrospinal fluid outflow. It can be congenital or acquired as a consequence of various etiological factors. The typical symptoms are headache, vomiting, blurred vision, papilledema, double vision, dizziness and seizures. Even though shunt systems can successfully treats hydrocephalus, this therapy is too expensive for most people in developing countries.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring hydrocephalus. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Shunt
  • Congenital hydrocephalus
  • Acquired Hydrocephalus
  • Symptoms of hydrocephalus
  • Diagnosis of hydrocephalus
  • The mechanism of hydrocephalus
