Special Issue on Biochar and Carbon Resources

Biochar is a stable solid, rich in carbon, and can endure in soil for thousands of years. Biochar can be an important tool to increase food security and cropland diversity in areas with severely depleted soils, scarce organic resources, and inadequate water and chemical fertilizer supplies. Biochar also improves water quality and quantity by increasing soil retention of nutrients and agrochemicals for plant and crop utilization.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring biochar and carbon resources. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Carbon resources in agriculture
  • Biochar production and characterization
  • Carbon sequestration
  • Effect of biochar on soil fertility
  • Biochar for water retention
  • Climate change and biochar
  • Applications

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Biochar and Carbon Resources” should be selected during your submission.
