Special Issue on Biosorption
Biosorption is a physiochemical process that occurs naturally in certain biomass which allows it to passively concentrate and bind contaminants onto its cellular structure. Though using biomass in environmental cleanup has been in practice for a while, scientists and engineers are hoping this phenomenon will provide an economical alternative for removing toxic heavy metals from industrial wastewater and aid in environmental remediation. Since biosorption is determined by equilibrium, it is largely influenced by pH, the concentration of biomass and the interaction between different metallic ions.
In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring biosorption. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
-
Bacteria adsorption
-
Fungi adsorption
-
Plant adsorption
-
Biomass concentration
-
Environmental filtering
-
Activated carbon filters
-
Sorbent adsorption
Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission, Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.
Please kindly notice that the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title is supposed to be specified and the research field “Special Issue - Biosorption” should be chosen during your submission.
