Special Issue on Soil Fertility and Conservation

Soil fertility can be defined as the ability of soil to provide all essential plant nutrients in available forms and in a suitable balance. Some soils are productive and they support luxuriant growth of plants, while others may need human effort to keep the soil fertile. People use commercial fertilizers, manures, waste products, and composts to add nutrients and organic matter to the soil. Sometimes chemicals are needed to change the pH to a more optimum level for nutrient availability to plants. We must be careful to ensure that practices are environmentally sustainable.

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles on exploring Soil Fertility and Conservation. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

• Soil management
• Soil loss
• Soil reaction
• Soil productivity
• Chemical fertilizers
• Organic fertilizers
• Manures
• Pesticides
• Hydropedology
• Drip irrigation
• Maintenance of soil fertility
