Special Issue on Vegetation Structure and Function

Drylands cover about 41% of Earth's land surface, and 65% of their area supports domestic livestock that depends on the above-ground net primary productivity (ANPP) of natural vegetation. Thus, understanding how biotic and abiotic factors control ANPP and related ecosystem functions can largely help to create more sustainable land-use practices in rangelands, particularly in the context of ongoing global environmental change.  The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues and developments in this area of vegetation structure and function.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore vegetation structure and function. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Vegetation and environment
  • Vegetation and climate
  • Vegetation and biodiversity
  • Vegetation structure, species diversity
  • Vegetation type
  • The vegetation distribution
  • Vegetation protection

Authors should read over the journal’s For Authors carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Vegetation Structure and Function” should be selected during your submission.
