Intelligent structure and Vibration Control

The intelligent structures and vibration control has been a hot area of research for several years. Intelligent structures may be defined as the structures which were constructed of intelligent material systems or may have dedicated or integrated actuators, sensors, and intelligence in a more discrete form. Active vibration control of the intelligent structures is a recently developed important vibration control method in the application area of intelligent structures，which usually needs external energy.

Modern Mechanical Engineering is pleased to present a Special Issue featuring the research of Intelligent Structure and Vibration Control. The special Issue focuses on the theory, design, synthesis, structure properties, performance analysis and testing of Intelligent Structure and Vibration Control.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following:

• The dynamics modeling of the intelligent structure
• Actuator and sensor material
• The intelligent active member research
• Dynamics experiments studying of the intelligent structure
• Vibration control studying of the intelligent structure
• Optimal configuration of sensor and actuator in the intelligent structure
• Other research topics about the intelligent structure and vibration control
