Special Issue on Group Theory Research

Group theory is a mathematical theory which studies the algebraic structures known as groups. The concept of a group is central to abstract algebra: other well-known algebraic structures, such as rings, fields, and vector spaces can all be seen as groups endowed with additional operations and axioms. Groups recur throughout mathematics, and the methods of group theory have influenced many parts of algebra. Linear algebraic groups and Lie groups are two branches of group theory that have experienced advances and have become subject areas in their own right. As one of most important branches in the pure mathematics, group theory is of great attractions to researchers.

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore group theory research. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Applications of group theory
  • Connection of groups and symmetry
  • Simple groups, representations, and related topics
  • Impact of geometric group theory
  • Topological quantum groups
  • Asymptotic group theory
  • Finite subgroups of cremona groups

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal’s Paper Submission System.

Please kindly specify the Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue - Group Theory Research” should be selected during your submission.

Also please note the following timetable:
