Prof. Sheng-Xiang Lin
Dr. Sheng-Xiang Lin is a tenured
full professor with the Oncology and Molecular Endocrinology Research Center,
Laval University Medical Center, Quebec, Canada. Its first structural biology
laboratory was established by him. The first human steroid enzyme 3D-structure
for the “17beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1” was determined by his lab. He
has also revealed the critical structure-bioactivity relationships for many
human enzymes that are important to treat various human diseases, particularly
those related to endocrinology and cancer. As of January 2018, Prof. Lin has
published over 150 papers with H-index over 37 in high impact factor journals,
leading to many useful findings for drug development (see, e.g., J. Am. Chem.
Soc., 2016, 138, 16212). Prof. Dr. Lin’s awards include the Commemorative Medal
of 125th Anniversary of the Canadian Confederation (1993), the Bai Yu Lan Prize
for outstanding scientists (1999, Shanghai), and the Canada research professor
awards (from 1990 to 2004). He was the Chair of the 11th International
Conference on the Crystallization of Biological Macromolecules (2006), and the
Corresponding Editor of the Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology.
