Advances in Hematology
  • Description
  • Author(s) Information

Hematology, also spelled haematology, is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. It involves treating diseases that affect the production of blood and its components, such as blood cells, hemoglobin, blood proteins, bone marrow, platelets, blood vessels, spleen, and the mechanism of coagulation.

In the present book, fifteen typical literatures about hematology published on international authoritative journals were selected to introduce the worldwide newest progress, which contains reviews or original researches on blood proteins, venous blood, human iron metabolism, white blood cell, hemoglobin, blood transfusion, etc. We hope this book can demonstrate advances in hematology as well as give references to the researchers, students and other related people.

Allergen specific immunotherapy has no influence on standard chemistry and hematology laboratory parameters in clinical studies
  • Chapter 2
Cross-sectional longitudinal study of the academic half-day format in a hematology-oncology fellowship training program
  • Chapter 3
Hematology and plasma biochemistry of wild-caught Indian cobra Naja naja (Linnaeus, 1758)
  • Chapter 4
The revenue generated from clinical chemistry and hematology laboratory services as determined using activity-based costing (ABC) model
  • Chapter 5
Twelve weeks supplementation with an extended-release caffeine and ATP-enhancing supplement may improve body composition without affecting hematology in resistance-trained men
