Special Issue on Antimicrobial

 

An antimicrobial is an agent that kills microorganisms or inhibits their growth. Antimicrobial medicines can be grouped according to the microorganisms they act primarily against. For example, antibiotics are used against bacteria and antifungals are used against fungi. They can also be classified according to their function. Agents that kill microbes are called microbicidal, while those that merely inhibit their growth are called biostatic. The use of antimicrobial medicines to treat infection is known as antimicrobial chemotherapy, while the use of antimicrobial medicines to prevent infection is known as antimicrobial prophylaxis.

 

In this special issue, we intend to invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original researches and review articles on exploring antimicrobial. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Antibacterials
  • Antifungals
  • Antivirals
  • Antiparasitics
  • Non-pharmaceutical
  • Others

 

Authors should read over the journal’s Authors’ Guidelines carefully before submission. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal at Paper Submission System.

 

Please kindly specify the “Special Issue” under your manuscript title. The research field “Special Issue – Antimicrobial” should be selected during your submission.
