ABSTRACT:
Grounded in researches on intercultural adaptation and the status quo of Chinese undergraduate students in German higher education, using an online anonymous questionnaire-based approach, this study investigated these student sojourners’ intercultural adaptation in terms of general life, social communication, academic studies, and mental health. Further coping strategies and suggestions were provided with regard to the four aspects of boosting foreign language skills and competence, respecting, understanding, tolerating and accepting cultural differences, constructing positive and healthy psychological expectations, and improving diverse offline and online social support systems.
