ABSTRACT: This paper describes a new type of polymeric waveguides which has the core, cladding medium and active nodes made from the same material. Part of the polymer is removed in cladding medium by formation of nanopores. The pores can be filled with liquid crystals (LC) in order to create an active composite medium needed for electrically controlled nodes formation.
