ABSTRACT: The single crystals of tristhiourea lanthanum nitrate (TTLaN) have been grown by solution growth using slow evaporation technique. The optical study revealed that the crystal has high transmission with lower cut-off wavelength of 235.78 nm. The EDAX analysis confirmed the grown compound elements. The presence of functional groups was identified through Fourier transform-infrared technique. The thermal stability of the crystal was determined from thermo gravimetric and differential thermal analysis curve. The second harmonic generation behavior of TTLaN crystal was tested by Kurtz-Perry powder technique. This single novel semiorganic crystal of TTLaN showed very good optical transmission property, high thermal stability and large non-linearity nature.
