Abstract: At present our domestic universities’ library cataloging outsourcing has become a trend, but in the implementation process, there are many problems, one of the biggest drawback is cataloging quality is not stable; it is the result of pursuing free service. Business outsourcing is to obtain the professional and efficient external enterprises to provide good quality services to enhance their own level of service, enjoying the free service and giving up to seek high quality service are to concentrate on trifles and neglect essentials to the long-term development of the cause, all this is not good for the library. The author thinks that we should automatically give up the attractive free lunch and it is the correct development direction to turn to pay for economic, efficient, high quality catalogue outsourcing of library cataloguing service.
