The designers always will provide a series of design schemes at the earlier product design stage, and usually they will compare their specific merit and demerit and then select the optimal design scheme, but this may lead to the contradiction trap. This paper presents a decision analysis method for new product design scheme selections based on the cost management as the main mission. When the schemes are provided, the research and design cost, manufacturing cost, logistics cost, and sale cost are analyzed orderly, then the comprehensive cost of each scheme is estimated. The company could gain the more preponderant product by using this method, so the engineering design process and scheme selection are more scientific.
