Abstract: The paper summarizes the developing courses and types of heavy haul transportation, and contrastly analyzes the differences of key research areas and developing trends of heavy haul transportation in different countries. On the basis of considering the influence of high speed railway network on the existing railway developing heavy haul transportation, the paper states the modes and related influences factors of heavy haul transportation, and studies the influence factors of stations and hub layout of existing railway developing heavy haul transportation.
