Abstract: China is moving towards a powerful country of tourism with the enhancement of its status in the world. Owing to globalization, Anglicization of public signs in scenic spots is becoming increasingly prominent. However, some C-E translation cannot attract foreign tourists and fulfill marketing functions effectively. This thesis attempts to provide countermeasures and effective and exercisable translating principles for the translation of public signs in scenic spots which will be beneficial to the improvement of the standard of Chinese tourist signs translation and thus it is of practical significance.
