Culture is a special social feature of mankind, and is the activity with which people communicates using languages and words, and reflects contents and methods. Culture is the soul and source of power for city development. City is the carrier of culture and the basement where culture deeply roots and flourishes. City’s prosperity and decline are closely linked to the development of culture. In the city fast developing period, it is much helpful for the sound city development to understand the nature of culture, study on the relationship between culture and city, strengthen the development of urban culture, and grasp the strength, weakness and consciousness of culture.
