Urban forest is the main life support ecosystem in city，which can produce the maximum eco-service function. improve urban state-owned ecoasset and enhance the urban landscape. So, the construction of Chongqing urban forest is eco-engineering which put the sustainable development to practical action. And a few basic principle for Chongqing urban forest construction were also put forward in this paper, namely, strengthen the rational planning of Chongqing urban forest distribution, obey ecological principles, and take trees as main composition and abundant biodiversity as foundation and plant community as construction unit and zonal vegetation as its fundamental characteristics. Furthermore, the urban end suburb green land ought to be merged into an organic whole. At last, the main aim of Chongqing urban forest is to improve the eco-effects of the green space system.
