Abstract: The formation and evolution of metropolitan area is the outcome of society economic growth. Beijing metropolitan area lies in east China, and is one of the important regions in China. In the context of low-carbon city construction, structural transformation and reconstruction of Beijing Metropolitan Area can effectively promote low-carbon city construction of the regional. The paper overviewed the developments of metropolitan area at home and abroad, analyzed present situations of Beijing metropolitan area, discussed problems of structural transformation and reconstruction of Beijing metropolitan area, and put forward development measures of Beijing metropolitan area.
