Abstract: With the launch of “going out” national strategy, Chinese construction enterprises (CCEs) are playing a significant role in the international construction market. Researchers should contribute to the effort to improve the competitiveness of the CCEs in the international construction market. It is necessary to address the current paucity of knowledge on such entities when they operate overseas. In 2010, 50 Chinese international contractors (CICs) were listed in ENR Top 225 International Contractors, and the total international turnover realized by CICs had surpassed American international contractors and reached to 53.7 billion dollars, accounting for 14.9% of the total turnover of the top 225 contractors. But it didn’t represent that the competitiveness of the CCEs has surpassed American, France, Germanyand other traditional construction power. The statistical data only reflected the static performance of the CCEs, but didn’t reflect the dynamic competitiveness of the CCEs. Therefore, this paper will analyze the competitiveness of the CCEs based on diamond model and aims to help the CCEs understand their competitiveness in the international construction. On the basis of former studying, this paper proposes some useful insights to the CCEs for improving their international

competiveness.
