Abstract: With the development of information technology, network technology, networking technology,global economic integration and market economy, as a transportation hub, the port’s development trend is to become the set of goods flow, capital flow, technology flow, personnel flow and information flow in integrated logistics center. It’s not only a logistics distribution center, but also as a logistics information center. However, the traditional port business processes can’t meet the current needs of the development environment. In order to meet the need of competition, port companies need to use information technology to re-engineer its current business process. This paper is based on the information technology and business process reengineering theory. This is combined with the current status of the port business processes to analyze the use of information technology on business process reengineering strategy for the port companies. It may provide some suggestions for the process reengineering of port companies.
