Abstract: China’s outward FDI (OFDI) has increased substantially in recent years and experienced a unique development path. This has generated considerable curiosity in the motivations and determinants. The current study investigated the relationships between several home country-specific driving factors in the period of 1982 – 2008. Stationary test, Granger Causality test, cointegration test and vector error correction model were used to analyze multiple time-series data. The research concludes that economy development level and openness level ofChina’s economy have significant and positive influence onChina’s OFDI. This paper also discusses the impacts of policy factors onChina's foreign investment in the context ofChina's “going global” Strategy.
