Abstract: With the diversification and individualization of consumer demand, traditional method of mass production has so many problems that manufacturers need to improve the original method to adapt to the changing market environment. This paper describes problems in the traditional method of mass production, and then points out the advantages of the lean production compared with mass production. Based on the advantages, this paper put forward some suggestions to the application of lean production in manufacturing industry.
