Abstract: The credit risk is the most important risk to the commercial banks, and it is still a focus for global banks. With the development of financial globalization and severe competition between multinational banks, there are more complicated operation modes for commercial banks, and an urgent demand call for a more advanced and mature method of credit risk management as the increasing innovations of exchanging technique and financial ramification. Therefore, it is significant that finding a method of credit risk management which is applicable and providing more comparative advantage to commercial banks of China according the experience of international banks. In this paper, the basic theory of credit risk for commercial banks was illustrated firstly; there after, we studied the actuality of commercial banks of China and the methods of the credit risk management for successful commercial banks abroad. Finally, suggestions were presented to improving credit risk management of commercial banks of China out of actuality of China according to the experience of international banks.
