Abstract: In recent years, the issue of new-generation migrant workers has drawn much attention. With an empirical study this paper deals with the current situation and internal interrelationship of the new-generation migrant workers’ psychological contracts. The psychological contract scale used in this research is based on the scale by Yuan Li (2002), and improved through structured interviews and field observations. The conclusions of this paper include: 1) the new-generation migrant workers’ psychological contracts are in a poor state and the fulfillment of the perceived organizational responsibility and the employee’s responsibility are both not optimistic. 2) Inside the new-generation migrant workers’ psychological contracts, there is an interrelationship between the organizational responsibility and the employee’s responsibility. 3) The migrant workers’ psychological contracts are constituted by 3 dimensions: criterion responsibility, interpersonal responsibility and development responsibility. The interrelationship of each dimension is complicated, among which the organizational interpersonal responsibility shows the most important impact on employee’s responsibility. Finally we propose several suggestions for the enterprises on migrant workers’ psychological contracts management.
