Title: Beijing High-Tech Industry TFP Change and the Analysis of Its Impact on Economic Growth

Abstract: The essay analyzed the 1996-2009 changes of Beijinghigh-tech industry total factor productivity quantitatively by using C--D production function, and further analyzed the impact of technological advances on promotingBeijingeconomic growth. Results showed that the overall trend ofBeijinghigh-tech industry TFP was good in 1996-2009. Although appearing to decline in the year 2002-2004 and 2008, it did not affect the overall upward trend. The essay analyzed capital, labor and technological progress respectively on the degree of their contributions to economic growth, which showed that the capital contribution to the economy still matters, but the technological advances in promoting Beijing economic growth is increasingly prominent.
