Abstract: Implicit leadership (followership) research in Chinese context is deeply influenced by implicit leadership (followership) theories derived in western context. However, it’s neglected that corresponding ideas have already been embedded in traditional Confucian “ideal being” models. After reviewing the research situation of western implicit leadership (followership) theories, this paper extracted corresponding “ideal being” models in Confucian thoughts, compared differences between Chinese model and Western model, and then proposed suggestions for the indigenous development of western implicit leadership (followership) theories in Chinese context, from the comparative perspective.
