Abstract: For the fault diagnosis problem of complex printed circuit board whose working principle is un- known, a general fault diagnosis algorithm based on infrared image processing is presented. By introducing the concept "generalized distance" to compare infrared images in different working conditions and locate the fault area on the printed circuit board rapidly. The algorithm is simple, real-time and generalized. The result of the experiment shows the validity of this algorithm.
