Abstract: The true “hommization” of the product design is dependent on the in-depth study of users. The un- derstanding of users’ cognition on products is the prerequisite for designing better products and the trend of future product designs. Combined with the features of users, it decomposes the users’ cognitive process and discusses all parts of the cognitive process. It also classifies the users’ cognition in accordance with their fa- miliarity with the product, and focuses on the corresponding knowledge categories of users’ three cognitive processes, so as to provide the theoretical basis for product designers to have a comprehensive understanding of the users’ cognition.
