Abstract: The traditional coal bunker is basically not equipped with gas control facilities and gas control isusually not considered. But in the high gas preparation plant, there are gas ultra-limit, accumulation and othersecurity issues in coal bunker, which not only greatly endanger the personal safety of operators and the safeproduction of coal preparation, but also bring about a negative influence on the security productionmanagement in coal preparation plant. This paper presents the occurrence characteristics, properties andhazards of coal gas. And the gas prevention and control are analyzed and discussed with the topical examplesof the gas disasters of coal bunker in high gas coal mine preparation plant. On one hand, the consciousness ofgas prevention should be enhanced and effective measures should be taken to prevent and control the gasdisasters of coal bunker. On the other hand, the gas inspection system should be established and improved toprevent gas accumulation and ignition. Then it can realize early forecast and prevention of gas disasters byestablishing and improving automatic monitoring system for coal gas. What’s more, hidden dangers of thetransfinite gas must be eliminated from fountainhead to achieve the target of safety production in coalpreparation plant.
