Abstract: Take example for 14 coal seam of Da’anshan mine, a mining work-face model with a scale ratio of 1:100was found in lab on Geometry Similitude Rule(GSR), model strength indexes of coal seam and roof and floor、excavation space and velocity are ascertained on Similitude Rule. Moving rules of roof in steep-inclined thick coalseam with working face moving forwards is researched. Synchronously using RFPA numerical calculation softwarevariation rule of stress of roof and floor with working face moving forwards is simulated. Research results indicate thatthere exists first weighting and periodic weighting with roof caving, first weighting step distance is about 35m andperiodic weighting step distance is about 12m, but strata behavior is not obvious during periodic weighting. On theother hand, with working face moving forwards not only roof appears falling, but also floor can be failure with lowdepth. Research results can give support to optimum design of flexible shield support and layout of floor haulageroadway.
