Abstract: |
After investigating previous study on coastal environmental vulnerability, the theory and approaches to vulnerability assessment of coastal problems are summarized. Main environmental problems in the western coast of Shenzhen city are analyzed with aid of RS and GIS technique, and the assessment index system is set up by considering three main influencing aspects such as geological environmental background, coastal environmental problems and human activities, which include 15 factors. Then, the method of spatial principal component analysis is used to determine factor weights and evaluate the environmental vulnerability in the western coast of Shenzhen city. The evaluation result show that the whole research area is rather fragile, the higher weakness and the highest weakness area are up to 151.4km2 which is account for 57% of whole area. Finally, several countermeasures are put forward which provide scientific basis for protection and management planning of coastal environment.
