Abstract: This study examines the long-run relationship between CO2 emissions and per capita energy consumption, income and foreign trade in the case of China by employing time series data of 1978–2008 and autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL) methodology. The conclusions indicate that there is a very strong long-term relationship between CO2 emissions and economic development of China, and the characteristics of China's CO2 emissions is in accordance with EKC. To reduce CO2 emissions, We can take the following measures: Increasing government investment, Strengthening the R & D of energy technology, solving the problem of energy price, encouraging and supporting new energy, reducing energy consumption of products and improving export structure.
