Abstract: The photoacoustic spectroscopy has exhibited its special potential. An air gas analyzer based on photoacoustic spectroscopy was described against atmosphere window. The features and requirements for modern monitoring indicated that the instruments should have had higher and better performance so that they could be widely applicated in environment, especially in atmospheric monitoring. After relevant analysis and discuss on construction, characteristics, and mechanism of the photoacoustic spectrometer based on CO2 waveguide laser, some improvemental and optimal attempts were presented, and an uncontended and on-line detection on atmospheric pollution over a wide range of interesting multi-ingredients just within the atmosphere window (9.6μm-10.6μm, a wavelength range the photoacoustic spectrometer discussed here possesses) is being expected.
