Abstract: Human behaviors and simulation calculation methods in a fire are so complex that refer to many systematic subjects. Safety evacuation depends on the result of interaction between persons and fire environment. Based on human collective psychology and behaviors the paper studies critical time of safety evacuation and basic computer simulation techniques，focusing on the features and principles of building EXODUS software. Finally combining with human behaviors in 9.11 a prediction is given to the development trend of crowd evacuation models and related researches in the future, aiming to give some help to improve the ability and efficiency of crowd evacuation in a fire.
