Abstract: Abstract: In this paper, with data for the year 1985-2008 as a sample, based on HP filtering technology, conducted an empirical study on China's foreign direct investment development cycle and fluctuation gap; and based on lag correlation analysis to explore the fluctuation gap of China's foreign direct investment in the co-movement characteristics. The results show that: China's foreign direct investment development cycle was "J curve" distribution, which was consistent with the IDP theory assumptions; relative to the level of economic development, China's foreign direct investment exits lag phenomenon. FDI outflow is lower than the potential outflow of foreign direct investment level; cyclical fluctuation of output (GDP) level was an important factor causes cyclical fluctuation of China's FDI outflows.
