Abstract: Abstract: The construction industry has long been known as a traditional male-dominated industry which women are highly under-represented within the industry in China. This paper attempts to identify constrains against the entry of women to construction industry in China. These restricts might come from Poor image of construction industry, hard and inflexible working conditions, the nature of construction industry and knowledge, etc. Secondly, the advantages of the increase of the number of women in construction industry will be explored. Finally, the feasible measures to improve this situation, such as the change of cultural stereotypes, government support, and training for women in construction, scholarship, and flexible work system and so on, will be discussed.
