Abstract: Abstract: The cost of delay is a serious and increasing problem in the airline industry. This paper identifies major factors influencing flight delay and passenger trip delay. Using the available airlines’ financial information, a model has been built to estimate flight delay and passenger trip delay cost. Using this model, the estimated cost of flight delay and passenger trip delay for five listed Airlines in 2007 are calculated.
