Abstract: Abstract: Henan Province is a typical inland province whose foreign direct investment is gravely influenced by the provincial development strategy and the macro-economic environment at home and abroad. In recent years, with the optimizing of the investment environment in Henan Province, the annual actual use of foreign direct investment has a larger growth. Actual utilization of foreign investment in 2007 hit a record high amount to 3,061,620,000 U.S. dollars, 1,216,360,000 U.S. dollars more than that in 2006 and the increase reached 66%. This paper expends the thinking of " the foreign direct investment’s effects on economic growth in Henan and the measurement test of the relationship between the two --- how to make better use of foreign direct investment to promote economic development in Henan Province". Based on the previous theoretical research, it take an empirical analysis of the foreign direct investment’s effects on economic growth in Henan. By grasping the discipline of foreign investment and optimizing the environment of investment, we can enable foreign direct investment play a better role in economic and social development of Henan. This paper offers some theory and policy suggestion for that.
