Abstract: It has aroused more and more concern on the living problems of urban low-income group with rapid urbanization in China. The housing needs of urban low-income group, which is the basic motion of all the housing action, are analyzed deeply first in this paper, including characteristics, types and levels. And then, the subjective satisfaction evaluation of housing needs of urban low-income group is done using Wuhan as an example. The evaluation results show that low-income groups are at the urgently stage where the lowest level needs should be met. The bottom needs should be considered deeply in order to improve the living conditions of low-income groups. Different ways and methods according to different types of low-income settlements should be used to improve and complete the spatial environment.
