Abstract: Abstract: The traditional community management is manual records and paper-based drawings, which is inefficient. This paper uses GIS technology to build a Residential District Management System, taking Visual Basic as a platform, MapX as inserting component, and graph data and attribute data are managed using SQL Server relation database technology. The process of detailed data acquisition, processing and storage is described in detail; commonly used functions of residential district management system are designed. Using this system can realize graphic data and attribute data’s bidirectional inquiry and spatial analysis of the basic facilities, households, achieve computerized management of the district daily affairs, provide strong support for information management and visualization of district, for decision-support of district management department.
