Abstract: Abstract: Import and export trade is becoming one of the important factors of influencing one country’s economic growth. Practice has proved that countries or regions with high open-up degree usually develop more rapidly .Therefore, the relationship between import and export trade and economic growth has become a hotspot topic which scholars study for since 1970. By statistically analyzing the import and export volume and GDP of Henan province with the annual statistical data between 1985 ~ 2007, this paper studies the relationship between the two by using the co-integration theory. Empirical analysis has shown that, there is long-term and stable co-integration relationship between the two. The granger tests indicate that import and export is the reason of Granger GDP; on contrary, no Granger causality.
