Abstract: Abstract: Remote sensing image is the basis and major component of remote sensing information system. Generally speaking, the information of remote sensing image is very rich, it has large amount of data and the complexity of images is high, which make very high demands of the mass data storage and timely transmission. With the rapid development of current earth-observing technology, storage, management and information publication of Remote sensing (RS) image data have become a bottle-neck for its appliance and popularization. Because of its multi-resource, multi-resolution, multi-band, multi-temporary and its mess characteristics, management and issue based on web become more difficult and complicated. In this paper, the research on remote imagery management of web mode, application of GIS in image recognition and metadata to assistant issue of image is implemented. The result shows that working efficiency of server and the efficiency client index data are improved compared with other system.
