Abstract: Long distance pipeline played an important role in national economy as an important component of the lifeline project, and the safety accident induced by geological hazards is fatal for pipeline. So, developing the special risk management of geological hazards aimed at pipeline and reducing the risk has important practical significance. Based on the conception of geological hazards and risk management and summarizing characters of the pipeline geological hazards, this paper mainly expounds the general idea about risk management of the geological hazards and describes the concrete contents and methods of risk identification, risk analyzing, risk responsing and risk monitoring. Take Zhongwu pipeline for example, described each link of the risk management,and the factor of safety, slice thrust force, thrust force on the pipeline of the East Yanjiatuo landslide were calculated. The result showed that the thrust force on the pipeline was significantly higher than allowable stress, and beyond the acceptable risk level. Finally, some suggestions about the risk responsing were put forward, according to the landslide’s character.
