Abstract: Abstract: The construction company has two ways to accomplish a project. One way is for the company to accomplish the project totally by itself; another is that the company subcontracts a part of the project to another construction company to finish the rest. This paper, from the perspective of risk theory, will analyze and compare the risk and benefit of the two ways to accomplish the project based on the expected value with utility function. The paper proves the impact of the nine subcontracts according to the attitude to the risk on the value of the project, and fixes the optimal subcontract proportion for the three subcontracts that can enhance the value of the project.
