Abstract: A bacterial strain named HS-043 with aerobic denitrification character was isolated from wastewater from a textile factory in Wuhan suburb. The denitrification ability of this strain cultured in SC medium and artificial wastewater (AWW) was studied, the results show that the strain HS-043 can removal more than 98% nitrate in artificial wastewater containing appropriate concentration of Fe2+and MoO4 2- in 12 hours. According to morphological observation, physiological biochemical identification and sequence analysis of the 16S rDNA, bacterial strain HS-043 was identified as Delftia acidovorans. The aerobic denitrification capacity of D. acidovorans is rarely reported, which means some industrial applications of this novel bacterium.
